By using Simply Notes, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the content you create or upload. You must be able to legally enter into this agreement to use the service.

Your content

You own everything you write. We claim no rights over your notes beyond what's needed to store and display them back to you, and to whoever you explicitly choose to share them with.

Groups

Creating a group makes you its owner. As owner, you're responsible for who you invite and for moderating what members post; you can remove members and delete the group at any time. Deleting a group is permanent and immediately removes its notes, chat history, and file attachments for every member — this cannot be undone.

Everything posted in a group — notes, chat messages, files — is visible to every member of that group, not just its owner. Don't invite someone to a group, or post content in one, without a reasonable basis to believe they're okay seeing it. The number of groups you can create may be limited, depending on your plan or on the free allowance in effect at the time.

Community

Community is a public space. Anything you publish there — notes, posts, comments — can be seen by other members and, on the main feed, by visitors who aren't signed in. Don't post anything you wouldn't want publicly visible.

Moderators and Admins may remove content, issue warnings, or (Admins only) restrict your ability to post or comment, suspend you, or ban you from Community, at their discretion, if you violate the Community Guidelines or these terms. These actions apply to Community only — they never affect your private notes, group access, or billing. Using a Community name instead of your real username doesn't exempt you from these terms; Moderators and Admins can always see your real username for accountability purposes.

Free access and paid plans

Simply Notes is currently free to use for everyone. Free access is offered at our discretion and may be limited — for example by storage space or the number of groups you can create — and we may introduce or reintroduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will give reasonable notice before any change affects your account, and you will never be charged without agreeing to a plan first.

If you hold a paid plan: yearly plans renew automatically until canceled, and lifetime plans are a one-time purchase with no recurring charges. Canceling a subscription or deleting your account permanently removes your notes and any groups you own — this cannot be undone.

Back up your own data

While we take reasonable measures to protect your notes, you're responsible for keeping your own backups of anything important — export options are available at any time from within the app. We are not responsible for any loss of data, however caused.

Acceptable use

Don't use Simply Notes — including group notes, group chat, and file attachments — to store or share unlawful content, harass or spam other members, attempt to breach the security of the service, or abuse the sharing features to distribute spam or malicious content.

Disclaimer of warranties

Simply Notes is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that your notes will always be preserved without loss or corruption.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Simply Notes and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, notes, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Simply Notes and its operator harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
