Privacy Policy

Simply Notes ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you're in control.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, and optionally a display name, username, avatar, and country you choose to add.
- Your notes: the content you write, including any files you attach. This is private by default and never used to train any model.
- Billing info: Simply Notes is currently free to use, so we collect no payment details from you. If paid plans are offered and you choose one, payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
Sharing notes
If you choose to share a note publicly, as a hidden link, or password-protected, only the content and access mode you select is exposed — never your email address.
Group workspaces
Groups are shared spaces you create or join with other Simply Notes users. Anything you post inside a group — notes, chat messages, and file attachments — is visible to every member of that group, not just you. Your username, display name, and avatar are also visible to fellow group members.
When you invite someone to a group by email or username, we use that email address only to look up or contact the person you're inviting — it's not added to any marketing list. Group chat history is capped per group and older messages are pruned automatically; a group owner can also clear a group's chat history manually at any time. Deleting a group permanently deletes its notes, chat, and attachments for every member.
Community
Community is a public feed where you can publish notes or write posts. Anything you post there — plus your username, display name, avatar, and any badges — is publicly visible, including to visitors who aren't signed in. You can set a separate Community name to show instead of your real username on posts and comments — Moderators and Admins can still see your real username, since accountability for moderation requires it.
Reports you file against another member's content, and any moderation action taken against you or by you (removal, warning, posting/commenting restriction, suspension, or ban), are recorded in a permanent internal log visible only to Moderators and Admins — never to other members.
Translation
The "Translate" control available throughout the app is powered by Google's free Website Translate service. It only activates when you click it and choose a language — nothing is sent to Google until you do. Once active, the page's text is sent to Google Translate for translation, and a small cookie remembers your chosen language across page loads. The translation itself is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours.
Cookies & analytics
The marketing pages of our site (not the app itself) use Google Analytics to understand traffic, but only after you opt in. When you first visit, a small banner asks whether you're okay with this — if you decline or don't respond, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind anytime via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
We never load analytics inside the app while you're writing or organizing notes — that usage isn't tracked.
Your rights
You can export or delete your notes at any time from within the app, and permanently delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings.
